Uninsured drivers on the road are at an estimated 13% and these drivers are according to recent studies ten times more likely to be in an auto accident that insured drivers. It may not seem fair, but these drivers are actually driving up the costs of auto insurance, which makes more drivers drop their coverage, as they are unable to pay the high premiums, which then again makes the rates go higher. This is a vicious cycle, but someone has to pay for the damages and injuries caused by uninsured drivers.
